History
Montage was originally founded under KDW, Inc. in 2001, by Kurt & Diane Wolfe. KDW, Inc. has always been a full-service event management and
catering company. Recently, the companies have been separated in order to more fully meet the needs of their clients.

Why Montage?
When hearing Montage, one might first think of “the assembly of works of art”…which best describes the work that Kurt, the Chef, does in the
kitchen.  It has been said, “think of it as the food ingredients are Kurt’s selected medium to work with and his canvas is your dinner plate!"

Meet the Owners
Kurt and Diane Wolfe are current residents of Camden, Missouri; they enjoy a rural lifestyle, but are only 25 minutes outside of Kansas City. With
over 45 years combined culinary and event experience, Kurt and Diane are not only experts in the kitchen, but in the event world as well.  Kurt began
his culinary career at a very young age, and quickly moved into the professional field under the watchful eye and creative guidance of Chef Walter
Schmuki, Swiss pastry chef.  Chef Schmuki owned and operated Chez Walter’s in Denver, Colorado.  After completing his apprenticeship, he moved
into the hotel industry and gained experience in the world of preparing food for the upwards of 1400 guests on a regular basis as a banquet chef for
a national hotel.  He found himself moving to Dallas in the early 1990s and soon discovered his true passion in the specialty restaurant arena. Kurt
was drawn to the creativity and flexibility that the specialty restaurant offered. Eventually the industry brought him to the Kansas City Area.

Diane began her career in the hotel industry working in various roles within the food and beverage operations: restaurant manager, bar manager,
executive steward, banquet manager, and convention services manager.  After many years in the hotel industry she selected to try her hand at
corporate meeting planning and took the position of General Manager of a Kansas City based meeting and event planning company.  Just over five
years after taking that position, the decision was made to start KDW, Inc.
